Learning Objectives

Following the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the current guidelines on risk stratification and risk stratified treatment of non-muscle invasive Bladder Cancer.
  • Identify newer modalities for minimally invasive surgical therapy (MIST) of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.
  • Describe various options for the management of stress urinary incontinence and overactive bladder.
  • Identify the treatment options available for small renal masses such as partial nephrectomy, ablative therapies, and active surveillance. Discuss the follow-up required for each treatment option.
  • Describe the impact of various stone and patient factors on selection of surgical modality and treatment of patients with kidney stones.
  • Identify various treatment options for the management of stress urinary incontinence including artificial urinary sphincters, male urethral slings, and adjustable continence devices.
  • Discuss strategies to reduce the incidence of infection and avoid intraoperative complication.
  • Describe the capabilities for minimally invasive surgical platforms for the treatment of urethral and ureteral stricture disease, urinary fistulae, and other complex urinary abnormalities.
